Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional patient care and will be proficient in various dental procedures and technologies. This role involves assisting the dentist during examinations and treatments, ensuring a smooth workflow in the clinic, and maintaining a welcoming environment for patients. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following infection control protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety regulations. Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records in compliance with HIPAA guidelines. Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for patient management. Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment plans. Manage dental clinic operations, including scheduling appointments and handling patient inquiries as a dental receptionist when needed. Support pediatric dentistry by providing compassionate care to young patients and their families. Assist in the use of advanced technologies such as 3D scanners for imaging purposes. Monitor vital signs and ensure patient comfort throughout their visit. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems (Eaglesoft, Dentrix) is preferred; experience with Epic is a plus. Understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques in a clinical setting. Ability to perform medical coding, documentation, and maintain accurate medical records. Experience in general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry is highly desirable. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members. Capability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Certification in radiology or willingness to obtain certification if required by state regulations.
