Duties Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures, including restorative, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort Take and develop X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring adherence to infection control and aseptic techniques Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) to accurately document patient information and treatment plans Monitor vital signs and medical imaging to support comprehensive patient assessments Maintain strict infection control protocols and ensure all clinical areas are sterile and compliant with HIPAA regulations Support administrative tasks such as verifying insurance information, scheduling appointments, and acting as a dental receptionist when needed Requirements Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant with expanded functions authorization in your state Proven experience in dental assisting within general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and accurately; experience with 3D scanners is desirable Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a team environment utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to safeguard patient privacy.
