Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort. Prepare treatment areas by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques in accordance with infection control standards. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced equipment such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic, ensuring all medical documentation is complete and up-to-date. Provide chairside assistance by handling dental terminology confidently, preparing materials, and supporting procedures with precision. Monitor vital signs of patients when necessary, especially in pediatric dentistry or medically complex cases, ensuring safety at all times. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist and managing medical coding for billing purposes. Experience Previous experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or specialized fields like prosthodontics or endodontics. Familiarity with dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, infection control protocols, anatomy knowledge, and aseptic technique is essential. Proficiency in using dental software such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation is strongly desired. Knowledge of X-ray procedures and experience with medical imaging tools like 3D scanners will set you apart. Understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology ensures compliance and effective communication within the team. Experience working with pediatric patients or in pediatric dentistry helps foster a caring approach tailored to young patientsâ needs.
