Responsibilities Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and sterilized according to infection control protocols. Manage patient flow by taking vital signs, medical history, and updating medical records in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Operate dental imaging equipment, including X-ray machines and 3D scanners, capturing high-quality images for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Maintain strict aseptic techniques and adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and ensure a safe clinical environment. Support front desk operations by assisting with dental receptionist duties, scheduling appointments, and managing patient communications. Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures. Ensure accurate documentation of medical documentation, coding procedures for insurance claims, and maintaining detailed medical records. Experience Candidates should have prior experience working in a dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques is essential for success in this role. Experience with pediatric dentistry, including working with children and understanding pediatric-specific protocols, is preferred. Hands-on experience with X-ray technology, medical imaging equipment, and 3D scanners will be advantageous. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, medical coding, and medical documentation processes is required. Previous roles involving dental assisting or supporting multiple specialties like prosthodontics or endodontics will help you excel here.
