Duties Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques. Assist dentists during various procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, by handing instruments and managing materials. Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans to assist with accurate diagnoses and treatment planning. Manage patient records efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Monitor vital signs and medical documentation for patients requiring medical clearance or special care, especially in pediatric or medically compromised cases. Greet patients as a dental receptionist, verify insurance information, schedule appointments, and update medical records with accuracy. Support the dental team with administrative tasks related to medical coding and documentation to ensure smooth clinic operations. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking vital signs, and managing dental terminology. Experience with dental software platforms such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for scheduling and record keeping. Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, anatomy knowledge, and proper sterilization procedures. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners confidently. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and understanding of medical terminology relevant to general dentistry. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with the team and provide excellent patient care. Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is highly valued.
