Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and reviewing dental records to ensure comprehensive care. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to aseptic techniques and radiation safety protocols. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health. Maintain accurate documentation of treatments, medical records, and dental terminology in electronic health record (EHR) systems like Dentrix. Follow infection control protocols aligned with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and ensure a sterile environment. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice. Proven experience in cosmetic dentistry. Proficiency with dental software such as Dentrix for documentation review, and medical coding. Strong knowledge of anatomy, dental terminology, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care and assessment skills. Experience working with EMR systems and managing medical imaging within a clinical setting.
