Registered Dental Hygienist Primary Location Signature Perio: Southpark â 6743 Fairview Rd, Charlotte, NC 28210 Additional Locations Signature Perio: Huntersville â 9727 Northcross Center Ct B, Huntersville, NC 28078 Signature Perio: Waxhaw â 514 North Broome Street, Waxhaw, NC 28173 Pay Rate: $55/hr Practice Schedule Monday - 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (SouthPark, Waxhaw, Huntersville) Tuesday - 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (all locations; Waxhaw alternating Tuesdays) Wednesday - 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (SouthPark, Huntersville) Thursday - 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (SouthPark, Huntersville, Waxhaw alternating Thursdays) Friday - 8:00 am to 1:00 pm (Southpark, Waxhaw) Job Description At Signature Perio, we rely on knowledgeable professionals to interact with our valued customers who have questions or concerns. We are looking for a Dental Hygienist to help treat patients and promote good oral health practices. Dental Hygienist duties revolve around conducting initial patient screenings, cleaning teeth (e.g., removing plaque) and advising patients on oral health and preventative care. You will help dentists decide treatments for teeth or gum diseases and handle dental emergencies. As a Dental Hygienist, you should be reliable and able to build trust with patients of all ages. You should have deep knowledge of relevant health and safety rules and a good eye for oral diseases and anomalies. If you have a steady hand and great bedside manner, we would love to meet you. This position will report directly to the periodontists. Responsibilities Review patient schedule for the day and prepare patient medical records. Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination. Sterilize dental instruments properly. Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history. Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis. Clean and help protect patientsâ teeth (e.g., remove plaque or apply fluoride). Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques). Give instructions to patients after operations or other dental procedures. Take X-rays or dental impressions. Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer). Maintain documentation and charts on each patient. Monitor supplies. Requirements and skills Proven experience as Dental Hygienist or similar role. In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g., HIPAA). Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment. Diploma in Dental Hygiene. Valid license to practice. License to administer local anesthetic highly preferred. Strong communication skills along with active listening. Exceptional interpersonal and rapport building skills. A patient and empathetic attitude. Strong time management and organizational skills. Adaptability and flexibility. Comfortable working in fast-paced environments. Troubleshooting skills, either basic or advanced, depending on the role and industry. Proficiency with computers, especially with Denticon software, and strong typing skills. Fluency in a second/multiple languages highly preferred.
