Responsibilities Assist dentists during a wide range of dental procedures including restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools. Manage patient records accurately using Open Dental. Perform vital signs assessments and document medical history to ensure patient safety during procedures. Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and assisting with comfort measures. Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization of instruments. Support the dental team with administrative duties such as scheduling appointments and managing medical documentation as a dental receptionist when needed. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, medical terminology, and anatomy knowledge. Experience working with Open Dental. Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures to ensure a safe clinical environment. Familiarity with dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners for precise diagnostics. Ability to perform vital signs assessments and understand medical coding for insurance claims processing. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, especially in pediatric dentistry settings. Understanding of general dentistry procedures along with specialized fields like endodontics and prosthodontics. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment supporting four-handed dentistry practices for optimal patient care.
