Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Take X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong oral health. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and office protocols. Follow infection control procedures using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination within the dental clinic environment. Experience Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental coding, and documentation review is essential. Familiarity with infection control standards, sterilization procedures, and aseptic techniques ensures safe practice standards. Demonstrated ability to perform patient care tasks efficiently while maintaining excellent communication skills. Certification as a licensed Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations is mandatory.
