Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following infection control protocols and aseptic techniques Assist orthodontist/dentists chairside during various procedures, orthodontic, and pediatric dentistry Take dental radiographs (X-ray images) while maintaining patient safety and adhering to HIPAA regulations Manage medical documentation, including updating electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Carestream/Softdent Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions Support administrative tasks like scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and assisting the dental receptionist as needed Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control procedures Familiarity with Carstream/Softdent Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines Strong understanding of medical terminology, orthodontic and pediatric dentistry practices Skilled in chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and aseptic procedures Knowledge of dental specialties such as orthodontics, and pediatric dentistry is highly desirable Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to expand their expertise in a collaborative environment.
