Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Athens, TN

Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is confident clinically, takes initiative, and wants to grow alongside a progressive private practice. You will work directly with the doctor to provide high-quality restorative and surgical care while helping maintain a positive, efficient clinical flow in a 4-operatory setting. Responsibilities Clinical Duties: Chairside assisting for restorative, surgical, and implant procedures Place and contour composite restorations (per Tennessee EFDA scope) Coronal polishing and sealants Fabricate and adjust temporary crowns and bridges Take digital impressions and intraoral scans Take high-quality radiographs (including CBCT if trained) Assist in All-on-X and implant procedures Maintain sterile field and infection control standards Proper operatory turnover and instrument processing Patient Care: Deliver exceptional patient communication and comfort Educate patients on post-op instructions and treatment plans Help reduce patient anxiety through professionalism and confidence Team & Workflow: Support efficient scheduling and production goals Assist in training junior assistants when needed Maintain inventory and assist with supply management Qualifications Tennessee EFDA certification required Current X-ray certification CPR certification 2+ years clinical experience preferred Implant or surgical assisting experience strongly preferred Experience with digital dentistry and intraoral scanning a plus What Weâre Looking For High attention to detail Self-motivated and growth-oriented Positive attitude and strong work ethic Comfortable in a fast-paced environment Strong communication skills Team-first mindset Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly pay (based on experience) Continuing education opportunities Growth opportunities in implant and advanced dentistry Why Join Us?
