Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and reviewing medical records to ensure safe treatment planning. Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health. Review documentation thoroughly to ensure accuracy in medical coding, record keeping, and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support pediatric dentistry procedures by engaging with young patients in a friendly manner, ensuring a positive experience for children. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice. Proven experience working in dental offices or clinics, especially within general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings. Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft highly preferred. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and medical terminology. Ability to perform dental assisting tasks including chairside assisting with precision and professionalism. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively and communicate clearly. Familiarity with medical coding processes related to dental procedures is advantageous.
