Responsibilities Assist dentists during various dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed. Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic. Implement infection control procedures adhering to HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging or other diagnostic procedures as needed for comprehensive patient care. Support administrative tasks including dental receptionist duties, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow. Utilize knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding to accurately document procedures and diagnoses. Ensure compliance with all infection control standards and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment. Skills Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic for efficient medical documentation. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy at all times. Experience with dental X-ray techniques and the operation of 3D scanners or other advanced imaging equipment. Excellent chairside assisting skills in general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry settings. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform vital signs assessment and assist with medical imaging procedures accurately. Familiarity with dental clinic operations including reception duties and managing medical records or medical coding tasks related to dental care. Experience working with pediatric patients is preferred to provide compassionate care tailored for childrenâs needs.
