Duties Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring all tools and materials are prepared and sterilized according to infection control standards. Operate dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners to capture accurate medical images while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Dentrix and Epic efficiently, documenting patient information, medical history, treatment plans, and medical coding with precision. Perform chairside assisting using aseptic techniques, taking vital signs, and providing support during procedures to ensure patient comfort and safety. Handle administrative tasks including answering the dental reception area, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and managing medical documentation. Maintain infection control protocols by adhering to OSHA standards, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring the clinic environment remains hygienic at all times. Support the dental team with pediatric dentistry-specific needs by understanding pediatric dental terminology and providing compassionate care tailored for young patients. Qualifications Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Proficiency in Eaglesoft for managing patient records and scheduling. Knowledge of medical terminology, medical imaging techniques including X-ray procedures, and anatomy relevant to dentistry. Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently with skills in four-handed dentistry to optimize workflow. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and experience working with children is highly desirable. Certification in radiography or X-ray technology is preferred; ongoing training in HIPAA compliance is essential for safeguarding patient information.
