Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all supplies are ready for procedures. Assist dentists chairside during various treatments including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and implants. Take dental X-rays and imaging to assist with diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records using Dentrix Ascend to ensure accurate documentation of medical and dental history. Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort throughout procedures to ensure safety and well-being. Maintain infection control standards by practicing aseptic techniques and adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and applying infection control protocols. Familiarity with PMS systems such as Dentrix Ascend, Opendetal or Eaglesoft for managing dental records and documentation. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and accurately. Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is advantageous; ongoing training in infection control and aseptic technique is expected.
