Duties Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection control and aseptic techniques Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging systems such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools while maintaining patient safety and comfort Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) Perform chairside assisting by providing necessary tools, materials, and support during procedures while maintaining excellent communication with patients Record vital signs and medical history information accurately to support comprehensive patient care Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing medical documentation and records Skills Proficiency with dental software Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology to facilitate effective communication within the team Experience with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe clinical environment Skilled in taking X-rays and operating dental imaging equipment like 3D scanners for accurate diagnostics Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices to comfortably assist young patients and support their unique needs Ability to perform four-handed dentistry efficiently alongside the dentist for faster patient throughput Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to protect patient privacy at all times This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to grow their career in general dentistry.
