Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical history reviews, and evaluating oral health status. Assist with chairside procedures in both pediatric dentistry and general dentistry settings using four-handed dentistry techniques. Manage medical imaging procedures such as X-rays while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and preventive care strategies tailored to pediatric or adult needs. Review medical records and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and proper coding of dental procedures using medical coding standards. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental clinic or dental office environment. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for efficient documentation review and record management. Knowledge of infection control procedures, aseptic techniques, and sterilization processes essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dental care delivery. Experience assisting with pediatric dentistry procedures and managing the unique needs of pediatric patients is highly desirable. Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and handle medical imaging equipment safely. Demonstrated commitment to patient care excellence, including effective communication skills and attention to detail in documentation review.
