Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and the importance of regular dental visits. Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical coding in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Monitor and record vital signs, medical history updates, and other relevant health information as part of comprehensive patient care. Support infection control procedures by sterilizing instruments, managing dental supplies, and ensuring a sterile environment. Collaborate with the dental team to improve office efficiency through effective chairside assisting and documentation review. Uphold all standards related to medical terminology, EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems, and dental terminology for precise communication. Experience Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice. Demonstrated knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding. Familiarity with EMR systems and documentation review processes ensures accurate recordkeeping.
