Permanent Dental Receptionist / Front Desk Job in Portland, OR

Our established Dental practice in downtown Portland is seeking an EFDA certified, or experienced, Dental Assistant to work in our office as a full time employee. The Dental Assistant will be expected to work with both our Hygienists and Dentists. Our office offers comprehensive care to its patients, so the Assistant will aid our Providerâs on oral surgery procedures, endodontic work, crowns, fillings, and so much more! Obtain and review health histories according to office protocol Take dental radiographs(x-rays) or 3D scans when needed Assist chairside for clinical procedures as directed by Dentist, and according to OSHA procedures. Our dentists perform the following procedures in office: Fillings, Crowns, Endodontic work, implant procedures, connective Tissue Grafts, oral surgery procedures, invisalign, oral appliance therapy, etc Complete patient charting in timely and accurate manner Give patient instructions and demonstrate as needed. Thoroughly answer all patient questions. Schedule patients, as needed. Send and monitor status of all lab cases Willingness to cross train in front office duties to support as needed Treatment Room Management and Sterilization Keep dental units ready, stocked and clean Oversee disinfection of treatment and hygiene rooms according to OSHA regulations Sterilize and organize all instruments and hand pieces according to OSHA regulations Implement the preventative maintenance/cleaning schedule for dental equipment Maintain dental office emergency kits and nitrous and oxygen tanks Records Management Securely store and handle patient records in compliance with state and federal requirements, including the HIPAA privacy and security regulations Accurately file patient forms and back office information Track cases and referrals to and from other doctors Treatment plan any new treatments recommended by the dentist Inventory Management Monitor inventory and order dental office supplies as needed Document equipment that requires or goes out for repair Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required 1+ yearsâ experience at dental office as an assistant required X-ray certification required (or ability to obtain within first 120 days) Dental Assistant certification preferred (not required) EFDA certification preferred (not required) Competency in computer skills Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) Continuing education credits Dental insurance Health insurance Paid sick time Paid time off Work Location: In person
