Position Summary The Lead Dental Assistant plays a key leadership role within the clinical team, supporting providers, mentoring dental assistants, and ensuring smooth day-to-day back-office operations. This role is ideal for an experienced DA who thrives in a fast-paced environment, leads by example, and is passionate about high-quality patient care and team development. Responsibilities & Duties Clinical Leadership & Team Support Serve as a clinical leader and primary resource for dental assistants Provide onboarding, training, and ongoing mentorship for DA team members Promote best practices, consistency, and efficiency in clinical workflows Support schedule flow and assist with daily huddles and team communication Clinical & Patient Care Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including restorative, surgical, and preventive treatments Prepare operatories, instruments, and materials according to established protocols Take digital X-rays and intraoral photos as needed Ensure patient comfort and provide exceptional chairside support Review and update medical histories and documentation at each visit Operational & Compliance Maintain infection control, sterilization, and OSHA compliance standards Monitor inventory and assist with ordering clinical supplies Ensure proper use and maintenance of clinical equipment Accurately document patient care and treatment notes in the EHR system Qualifications Active Oregon Dental Assistant certification (EFDA or Expanded Functions preferred, if applicable) Minimum 2â3 years of dental assisting experience Prior lead, senior, or mentoring experience strongly preferred Strong knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and infection control protocols Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills Ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and stay calm under pressure Experience with digital charting and modern dental technology preferred What We Offer Supportive, team-oriented culture Modern technology and systems Opportunities for growth and leadership development Competitive compensation and benefits package (based on experience) Equal Opportunity Employer Timber Dental is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
