Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring accurate documentation in electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix Maintain strict infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures to ensure patient safety Review and update medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and accurate documentation of treatment plans Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, providing excellent patient care and addressing concerns promptly Skills Proficiency with dental software platforms such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, charting, and record management Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding to facilitate accurate documentation Experience in pediatric dentistry is highly desirable for working with young patients in a pediatric dentistry setting Skilled in chairside assisting, including handling dental instruments efficiently and maintaining a sterile environment Ability to perform vital signs assessment and medical imaging with precision and attention to detail Familiarity with infection control standards, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures Excellent communication skills for educating patients about oral health, treatment options, and post-care instructions Join us in creating healthier smiles!
