Permanent Dental Receptionist / Front Desk Job in Huntington, NY

PERSONALITY MATTERS Some offices want someone who can answer a phone. We want someone who can make a nervous four-year-old giggle, calm a worried parent, and keep a busy schedule running smoothly. Great Whites Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics is an independent, family-owned practice in Huntington that's been part of this community since 2009. We're not a corporate chain. We don't rush families through. We take the time to make every child feel safe and every parent feel heard â and that starts the moment they walk through the door or pick up the phone. We're looking for someone who makes that happen at the front desk. WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR You're the kind of person who remembers a patient's name, notices when a child is nervous before anyone else does, and handles five things at once without losing your warmth. You take pride in being the person who makes the whole office feel organized and welcoming. You don't need to have dental experience â we'll teach you everything you need to know. But you do need to genuinely care about people, especially kids. WHAT YOU'LL DO Be the first smile every family sees â greet patients, manage check-in and checkout, and set the tone for every visit Make every caller feel valued â answer phones with warmth and professionalism, schedule appointments, and follow up with families Keep the day running â manage the schedule in Dentrix, coordinate with our clinical team, and solve problems before they become problems Handle the details â collect payments, assist with insurance eligibility verification, update patient records, and keep everything accurate Protect patient trust â follow HIPAA and privacy standards in every interaction Be part of the team â pitch in wherever help is needed, join our morning huddles, and help everyone finish the day together WHAT YOU BRING Required: At least 1 year of experience in front desk, reception, customer service in a professional office, or healthcare administration A phone manner that makes people feel welcome Basic computer skills (email, scheduling software, word processing) High school diploma or equivalent Authorization to work in the United States Preferred (not required â please apply even if you don't check every box): Dental or medical office experience Experience with Dentrix or similar practice management software Experience working with children or in a pediatric setting WHY GREAT WHITES We're small on purpose. Everyone here knows each other. You're not a number â you're part of a team that genuinely has each other's backs. Leadership is accessible. Our owner practices alongside the team. When you need something, you talk to a person, not a portal. We invest in people. We hire for personality and train for skill. If you're the right person, we'll help you build the skills to grow here. We've been here since 2009 and we're still growing. This is a stable practice with a long-term future. Your hours are your hours. We don't cut hours on slow days. When you commit to your schedule, we commit to yours. Compassion isn't a slogan. The best days here are the ones where a scared kid walks out giving high-fives. That's what we're building toward, every single day.
