Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting procedures, excellent patient care skills, and familiarity with modern dental technology. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting dentists during procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and clinical efficiency. Duties Assist dentists during various dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, orthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow and patient safety. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners, and ensuring all supplies are available. Take X-rays adhering to aseptic techniques and radiation safety protocols. Manage Dentrix to document patient information accurately while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide chairside assistance by handling dental instruments, managing patient comfort, and performing vital signs assessments when necessary. Support infection control practices through proper sterilization procedures and adherence to OSHA standards. Collaborate with the dental team to facilitate efficient scheduling and patient flow as a dental receptionist when needed. Maintain knowledge of dental terminology and Dentrix software to ensure precise communication and record-keeping. Requirements Proven experience in dental assisting within a clinical setting with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Proficiency in Dentrix for managing medical and dental records and documentation. Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment. Ability to perform X-ray imaging accurately while following radiation safety guidelines; experience with 3D scanners is a plus. Strong understanding of dental terminology. Excellent communication skills for interacting effectively with patients of all ages and collaborating within a multidisciplinary team. Certification in Dental Assisting (such as CDA or RDA) preferred; ongoing education in infection control or advanced dental procedures is advantageous.
