Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control practices, and chairside assisting techniques. Experience with Dentrix is highly desirable. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, including general dentistry, endodontics, and prosthodontics. Perform chairside assisting duties while maintaining a sterile environment using aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety protocols. Manage patient records and medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring necessary supplies are available. Conduct patient intake by recording vital signs and medical history accurately. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently. Utilize 3D scanners for imaging when required and assist in pediatric dentistry procedures as needed. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic setting. Familiarity with Dental systems, particularly Dentrix. Strong understanding of dental terminology. Knowledge of infection control protocols and anatomy related to dentistry. Proficiency in taking X-rays and performing medical imaging tasks. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients of all ages, including pediatrics. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Certification in dental assisting or relevant qualifications is preferred but not mandatory, X-ray Certification.
