Responsibilities Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct thorough patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote long-term oral health. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient comfort. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and office protocols. Review documentation for accuracy, update medical records, and assist with medical coding for billing purposes. Skills Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques. Experience working with all ranges of dental patients (pediatric to geriatric) Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems for documentation review and data entry. Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, and infection prevention standards. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and collaborate with team members.
