Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and sterilized according to infection control protocols. Operate and manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix to accurately document patient information, treatment plans, and medical history while maintaining HIPAA compliance for patient privacy. Take high-quality X-ray images and utilize advanced medical imaging tools like 3D scanners to support accurate diagnoses and treatment planning. Perform chairside assisting with aseptic technique, vital signs measurement, and medical documentation to ensure patient safety and comfort throughout their visit. Manage the dental clinicâs administrative tasks by supporting the dental receptionist with scheduling, patient check-in/out, and insurance processing using Epic or similar systems. Ensure strict adherence to infection control standards by practicing proper sterilization techniques, maintaining a clean clinical environment, and understanding anatomy knowledge for safe procedures. Support pediatric patients with specialized care techniques, demonstrating patience and effective communication to foster trust during their dental visits. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental terminology and medical terminology. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is highly desirable; experience with medical coding and managing medical records is a plus. Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, anatomy knowledge, and the use of X-ray equipment for diagnostic purposes. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members including dental receptionists, hygienists, and dentists while providing compassionate care to patients of all agesâespecially pediatrics. Ability to perform multiple clinical tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles along with experience supporting endodontic or prosthodontic procedures is advantageous. A valid certification in radiography or X-ray technology for dental imaging is required; additional certifications in medical documentation or medical coding are beneficial.
