The ideal Dental Assistant for this position would have 1+ yearsâ experience as a Certified Dental Assistant, must be a Certified Dental Assistant in the state. Radiology certification is required . Knowledge of Dentrix software would be helpful. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric treatments Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and sterilized equipment following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols Take and develop dental X-rays Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system like Dentrix while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy Provide vital signs monitoring and medical documentation for patients as needed, especially in pediatric dentistry cases Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to infection control standards and anatomy knowledge to ensure patient safety Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions in clear, understandable language Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry and pediatrics preferred Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding practices Knowledge of infection control procedures, aseptic techniques, and sterilization protocols to ensure patient safety Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during various dental procedures including endodontics and prosthodontics Skilled in taking X-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scans; familiar with medical imaging technology Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and explain treatment plans clearly Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry and pediatrics to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning Certification in radiography or dental assisting credentials required; CPR certification is preferred Join our team where your skills will make a real difference!
