Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly. Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support with precision and care. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring all medical documentation is complete and up-to-date. Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions about dental terminology, and assisting with patient comfort and anxiety reduction. Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient health during appointments to ensure safety throughout treatment. Maintain strict infection control protocols by following aseptic techniques and infection prevention guidelines to uphold a safe clinical environment. Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures and dental assisting techniques. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic or similar platforms is a plus. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners confidently and safely. Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic technique, and sterilization processes to ensure patient safety. Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist or in customer service roles; compassionate approach to pediatric dentistry is highly valued. Certification in radiography or X-ray licensing as required by state law; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or medical coding are advantageous. Ability to work effectively in a team practicing four-handed dentistry techniques for efficient patient flow.
