Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dental assisting, with proficiency in various dental software systems and a thorough understanding of dental procedures. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment, providing exceptional care across general dentistry and specialized fields such as prosthodontics and endodontics. The Registered Dental Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the dental team by ensuring efficient patient flow, maintaining infection control standards, and delivering high-quality chairside assistance. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorations, extractions, and root canals. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are followed. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring accurate positioning and patient comfort. Record detailed medical and dental histories, vital signs, and other medical documentation using EMR systems such as Open dental, Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic. Manage patient records securely in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures. Educate patients on oral health care instructions post-treatment and answer questions regarding procedures or treatment plans. Maintain inventory of dental supplies and sterilize instruments according to infection control standards. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and assisting with billing or coding as needed. Collaborate effectively with the dental team to ensure smooth clinic operations and excellent patient care. Requirements Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA). Experience working with EMR systems such as Open dental, Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is highly preferred. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and proper medical documentation practices. Proficiency in dental imaging including X-ray techniques and 3D scanning equipment. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently across various specialties including prosthodontics and endodontics. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages. Ability to work well within a team environment in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
