Duties Perform comprehensive dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth to maintain oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while ensuring proper infection control and aseptic techniques. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to their needs. Assist with pediatric dentistry procedures by providing specialized care for children in a friendly and supportive manner. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Support the dental team with chairside assisting during various procedures, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort. Requirements Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations. Proven experience in general dentistry and dental office environments, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred. Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and medical coding. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and HIPAA compliance standards. Ability to perform detailed patient care tasks including vital signs measurement and patient assessment. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and collaborate seamlessly with the dental team.
