Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Springfield, MA

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, managing patient care, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. The Dental Assistant will utilize their knowledge of dental procedures, infection control, and medical documentation to deliver high-quality dental services across general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontic treatments, and prosthodontics. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Take and develop dental X-rays in accordance with safety protocols and HIPAA regulations. Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic, and other medical documentation platforms. Record vital signs and medical history information accurately for each patient. Maintain infection control standards through aseptic technique and proper sterilization procedures. Educate patients on oral health care instructions and post-treatment care. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing medical records as needed. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Assist with pediatric dentistry procedures when necessary, demonstrating sensitivity to young patientsâ needs. Operate 3D scanners and other advanced imaging equipment to facilitate accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Skills Proficiency with EMR systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic, and other dental software for medical documentation and records management. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Experience with chairside assisting across various specialties such as general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards. Familiarity with dental imaging technologies including 3D scanners. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security. Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
