Oral Surgery Office in Mesa (Full time position)

Dental Assistant – Oral Surgery Experience Preferred

Location: Mesa, AZ  

Position: Full-Time (Monday–Friday)

Christensen Oral Surgery is seeking an experienced Oral Surgery Assistant to join our fast‑paced, patient‑focused Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery practice. We are looking for a dependable, energetic, and motivated assistant with strong clinical and leadership skills who is excited to be part of an outstanding team.

Work Schedule

Typical assistant hours are:

• Monday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Tuesday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
• Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Friday: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Hours may vary depending on patient scheduling and emergencies. Weekly hours typically range from 30–40 hours.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist the oral surgeon during consultations and surgical procedures
• Support and monitor patients undergoing and recovering from IV sedation
• Set up and break down surgical and exam trays
• Perform sterilization of instruments and maintain OSHA-compliant protocols
• Manage inventory and restocking of supplies
• Communicate with referring dentists and manage follow‑up correspondence
• Maintain clean and organized back-office areas

Qualifications

• Dental Assistant experience required
• Prior oral surgery assisting experience preferred
• CPR Certification required
• X-ray Certification (DANB) required
• DAANCE Certification is a plus
• Knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA standards
• Strong work ethic, organization, and positive team-oriented attitude
