Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dental Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice by providing exceptional patient service and administrative support. This position requires proficiency in managing front desk responsibilities, handling patient inquiries, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate medical records. A strong understanding of dental terminology and experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems is essential. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and manage the front desk operations efficiently. Schedule and confirm appointments using dental scheduling software. Handle patient inquiries via phone and in-person with excellent phone etiquette. Verify insurance information and assist with insurance claims processing. Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Review documentation for completeness and accuracy. Process medical billing and coding using CPT and ICD coding systems. Assist in the collection of payments and manage medical collections as needed. Support the dental team with administrative tasks, including filing, typing, and data entry. Utilize EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or Dentrix for patient management. Communicate effectively with patients regarding care plans and treatment options. Requirements Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a similar medical office role is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology, dental terminology, and health information management. Proficiency in EHR systems; experience with Eaglesoft or similar software is a plus. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply for enhanced patient communication. Knowledge of medical coding (ICD-9, ICD-10) and billing processes is advantageous. Strong customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction. Experience working in a clinic or hospital setting is beneficial.
