Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dental assisting, with experience in both general and pediatric dentistry. This role involves providing chairside assistance during dental procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the clinic. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care while adhering to safety and infection control protocols. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various procedures, including endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry. Prepare and maintain the treatment area to ensure a clean and organized environment. Take and develop dental X-rays while following safety protocols. Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging as needed. Educate patients on post-operative care and oral hygiene practices. Maintain infection control standards by adhering to aseptic techniques. Utilize 3D scanners for impression taking when necessary. Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and handling medical documentation. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred. Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and basic medical coding is essential. Proficiency in using EMR systems, particularly Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic is a plus. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is highly desirable. Strong understanding of anatomy related to dental health and infection control protocols. Ability to perform chairside assisting effectively while maintaining patient comfort. Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor when interacting with patients. Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
