Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for supporting patient care. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in assisting dentists during procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental practice. Responsibilities Assist dentists during various dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray images) while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Provide chairside assistance by handling dental instruments, suctioning, and maintaining patient comfort throughout procedures. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation to ensure patient safety during treatments. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment in compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control standards. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and greeting patients as a dental receptionist when needed. Experience Previous experience working in a dental clinic environment is required, with familiarity in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics preferred. Proficiency in EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding, and medical records management is advantageous. Hands-on experience with dental imaging equipment including 3D scanners is a plus. Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, anatomy knowledge, and dental terminology is essential. Experience with pediatric patients and familiarity with Epic or similar healthcare software will be considered an asset. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care.
