Job Title: Non-Anesthetic Pet Dental Hygienist (Experienced) â Part Time Company: Smiling Canines Location: Ventura County â Thousand Oaks, Moorpark, Ventura, and Goleta (Mobile clinic locations) Job Type: Part-Time Pay: Hourly (based on experience) About Us Smiling Canines provides professional non-anesthetic dental cleanings for dogs and cats in a calm, safe environment. We partner with local veterinary clinics to offer preventative dental care for pets that do not require anesthesia. Our goal is to improve petsâ health while providing a positive experience for both animals and their owners. We are currently looking for an experienced Non-Anesthetic Pet Dental Hygienist to join our team on a part-time basis serving our Ventura County clinic locations. Position Overview The Pet Dental Hygienist will perform professional non-anesthetic dental cleanings on dogs and cats while ensuring the safety, comfort, and wellbeing of each pet. This role requires prior experience with pet dentals and the ability to confidently handle animals in a clinical setting. Responsibilities Perform non-anesthetic dental cleanings on dogs and cats Safely and confidently restrain pets during dental procedures Remove plaque and tartar using professional dental tools Assess and document oral health conditions and communicate findings Identify pets that may require referral for anesthetic veterinary dental care Maintain a calm and low-stress environment for pets Properly clean, sterilize, and maintain dental instruments and equipment Assist with clinic setup and breakdown at each location Maintain accurate records for each pet treated Communicate professionally with pet owners regarding dental health and aftercare recommendations Follow company protocols and safety procedures at all times Requirements Prior experience performing non-anesthetic pet dental cleanings (required) Experience handling dogs and cats in a clinical or veterinary setting Strong animal handling and restraint skills Ability to recognize dental disease and oral health concerns Reliable transportation to travel between clinic locations Professional, dependable, and team-oriented Comfortable working in a fast-paced mobile clinic environment Preferred Experience Veterinary clinic experience Veterinary technician background Animal care or grooming experience involving dental work Schedule Part-time Clinics held in Thousand Oaks, Moorpark, Ventura, and Goleta Typically daytime clinic hours How to Apply Please submit your resume with relevant pet dental experience .
