This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control, and chairside assisting techniques. The Dental Assistant will work closely with both patients and dental professionals to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow within the clinic. Responsibilities Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring a comfortable environment for patients. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Take and develop X-rays as required, adhering to safety protocols. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Utilize EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for medical documentation and scheduling. Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures. Monitor vital signs and assist in medical imaging when necessary. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Support pediatric dentistry needs with appropriate techniques tailored for children. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant. Familiarity with dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is highly desirable. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures including prosthodontics and endodontics. Proficiency in taking X-rays and understanding medical imaging processes. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for maintaining accurate medical records. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism. Excellent communication skills to interact positively with patients of all ages. Understanding of infection control standards and aseptic techniques is essential. Certification in dental assisting is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate.
