Position Overview The EFDA plays an important clinical role in supporting the dentist during procedures and performing expanded duties within the state’s scope of practice. This position requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing an excellent patient experience. Key Responsibilities Clinical Assisting Assist the dentist during a variety of general dentistry procedures Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for patient care Ensure proper sterilization and infection control protocols are followed Take dental radiographs in accordance with state guidelines Expanded Functions Place and contour restorative materials under the supervision of the dentist Perform coronal polishing and apply sealants as permitted by state regulations Take impressions and assist with fabrication of temporary restorations Assist with crown preparations and restorative procedures Ensure restorations meet quality and esthetic standards Patient Care Provide a welcoming and comfortable experience for patients Educate patients on treatment procedures and post-operative care Maintain clear communication with the clinical team to support efficient workflow Team Collaboration Work closely with dentists, hygienists, and administrative team members Support a positive, team-oriented office culture Help maintain organization and cleanliness of clinical areas Qualifications Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification required Dental radiography certification required DANB certification preferred depending on state requirements Minimum 1 year of dental assisting experience preferred Strong clinical skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and patient care skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment What We Offer Competitive compensation based on experience Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and paid holidays 401(k) retirement plan Opportunities for professional development and continuing education A supportive and collaborative team culture Equal Opportunity Employer Timber Dental is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
