Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring optimal oral health for patients of all ages. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster long-term dental health. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation review in compliance with HIPAA regulations and dental office standards. Support infection control procedures by sterilizing instruments, managing dental supplies, and ensuring a sterile environment at all times. Skills Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation and scheduling. Strong knowledge of dental termiDnology, anatomy, medical coding, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Experience with pediatric dentistry practices and providing compassionate care tailored for children. Skilled in chairside assisting with a focus on patient comfort, infection control, and aseptic technique. Ability to perform vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and patient assessment with precision. Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards for safeguarding patient information and medical records. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively about their oral health needs.
