Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring efficient workflow with four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques to prevent infection. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including 3D scans when necessary, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; accurately document medical history, vital signs, and treatment details. Support patients by explaining procedures using appropriate dental terminology and ensuring they feel comfortable throughout their visit. Maintain infection control protocols and ensure all equipment is properly sanitized according to OSHA standards. Assist with medical documentation, coding procedures for insurance claims, and managing medical records efficiently. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry practices. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with Epic is a plus. Strong understanding of infection control procedures, aseptic technique, and anatomy knowledge related to dental assisting. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and accurately; certification in radiography preferred. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly using dental and medical terminology. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is highly desirable; experience working with children is a plus. Certification in CPR and basic life support (BLS) is preferred; willingness to learn new skills related to medical imaging and dental technology.
