Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring optimal oral health for each patient. Take and evaluate vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to assess overall health status. Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to maximize efficiency and patient comfort. Conduct medical imaging procedures like X-rays with proper aseptic technique while maintaining infection control standards. Review medical records and documentation to ensure accurate patient histories, treatment plans, and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health. Maintain detailed dental records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for seamless documentation review and medical coding. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental clinic or office environment. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and providing care for pediatric patients is highly preferred. Hands-on experience with dental assisting tasks such as chairside assisting during various procedures. Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation management. Ability to perform patient assessments effectively while demonstrating excellent patient care skills.
