Dental Assistant for Pediatric Dental Practice Join our dynamic dental team at Iowa Kids Pediatric Dentistry as a Registered Dental Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will directly contribute to providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental professionals. In this vital role, you will assist with chairside procedures, manage patient records, and ensure our clinic maintains the highest standards of infection control and safety. Your proactive approach will help create a welcoming environment for patients of all ages, especially in pediatric dentistry settings. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following aseptic techniques to maintain infection control standards Assist dentists during various procedures such as restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) ensuring patient safety and compliance with HIPAA regulations Manage patient records accurately using EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, including medical and dental documentation Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, suctioning, and monitoring vital signs during procedures Educate patients on post-treatment care, and oral hygiene practices to promote overall health Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and greeting patients as a friendly dental receptionist Experience Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures Hands-on experience with dental imaging techniques Strong understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques in a clinical setting Experience assisting with pediatric dentistry cases is highly desirable Ability to perform vital signs measurement and medical documentation accurately Strong ability to work as a team Join us to be part of a passionate team committed to delivering outstanding dental care while advancing your professional skills.
