Job Summary We are seeking an easy going registered dental hygienist to join our small family friendly office. Our close - knit team takes the time to truly get to know each patient, making every visit relaxed, personal and stress free. Help us help our patients regain their confidence again. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, using advanced dental equipment. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current medications to ensure safe treatment planning. Assist with chairside procedures in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings, supporting dentists during examinations and treatments. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options to promote lifelong oral health. Maintain accurate and detailed medical and dental records in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance. Follow strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a sterile environment. Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays or other diagnostic images to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning. Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, including taking vital signs before and after treatments. Review documentation for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to clinical guidelines; assist with medical coding for billing purposes when necessary. Ensure all dental instruments are sterilized according to OSHA standards and maintain a clean, organized clinical workspace. Experience Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental office or clinic setting. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques. Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred. Experience performing pediatric dentistry procedures is a plus, along with knowledge of pediatric-specific protocols. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations while demonstrating empathy and professionalism. Certification as a Registered Dental Hygienist from an accredited program is required; state licensure must be current.
