Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental concerns to inform treatment plans. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and comfort. Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation review in compliance with HIPAA regulations and dental office standards. Support infection control procedures, including sterilization of instruments and maintaining a clean clinical environment. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice. Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for charting, documentation, and EMR (Electronic Medical Records) management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical coding, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Experience in pediatric dentistry is highly desirable, with the ability to handle pediatric patients with patience and professionalism. Demonstrated expertise in chairside assisting, patient care, patient assessment, and infection control protocols. Familiarity with general dentistry procedures, medical records management, and documentation review processes.
