Job Overview We're welcoming a chairside Dental Assistant to our family dentistry team. You are the central support team member for our patients and dentists, from the moment they are called back to the room to the moment they are checking out and planning their next appointment. Their safety and comfort preparation are largely in your hands, and teaming up with the doctors to help gather information and share dental procedures. It is a vital role, allowing a RDA to work with our team and keeps our team moving. Trust is a large part of our practice, and we need to know you are caring for our patients like they have been part of the family for 20 years. Many of ours, actually have been! Compensation will be experience-dependent, but we also have monthly and quarterly bonuses for team members to keep long-term goals achievable. We are a family dental practice, with hygienists and dentists providing general dentistry and dental implant treatments. We take impressions and digitally scan, and have several 3D Printers to help collaborate with our local labs and provide excellent turnaround on dental devices and models. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and sterilization protocols following infection control standards. Assist dentists chairside during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology, following ADA and FDA regulations, inside the TSBDE requirements. Manage patient records accurately using EHR including Dentrix Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout treatments. Provide comprehensive chairside assistance by handling dental terminology, aseptic techniques, communicating efficiently for planned procedures and following any needed changes. Various duties as assigned include administrative tasks such as helping with scheduling chairside, communicating to reception and treatment coordinator positions, maintaining supply and trainings, routine maintenance. Qualifications Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental assisting procedures. Familiarity with EHR such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, and efficient entry and editing of chart, assisting with note entry. Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely and effectively. We can train on the particular brands at our practice, and having background on scanning and 3D Printing would be a helpful asset. Chairside safety with needed modalities such as nitrous use, intraoral treatments from almost each dental specialty. Experience with chairside assisting in general dentistry or specialized fields such as prosthodontics or endodontics preferred. Ability to position ergonomically for the required work-day; we have several ergonomic trainings available but we would like to have a collaboration to keep you healthy for dental assisting requirements for years to come.
