Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Laredo, TX
956 Dental is looking for a dedicated and experienced Dental Assistant to join our growing team! In this energetic role, you will assist dentists during patient procedures, ensure smooth clinical operations, and provide compassionate care to patients of all ages. Responsibilities: Assist dentists chairside during various procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and other specialty dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following strict infection control protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring patient safety and comfort while maintaining accurate medical imaging records. Measure vital signs and assess patient comfort before, during, and after treatment. Manage and update medical documentation, dentition profiles, and treatment plans in our electronic dental records system. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene. Maintain detailed records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA. Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, inputting dental coding for billing purposes, and coordinating follow-up care. Requirements Required: Active TSBDE Registered Dental Assistant/X-Ray Certification Required: Active CPR Certification Preferred; Experience working in a dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices. Proficiency in using dental software systems. Ability to operate dental X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely and effectively. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy. Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with patients, parents, and team members. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and providing exceptional patient care.
