About Kary Dental Kary Dental is a new, independently owned dental practice in Bethesda, MD, opening April 2026. We are not a cookie-cutter office, and we are not looking for a cookie-cutter assistant. Dr. Andrew Kary is a general dentist with oral surgery training, a mechanical engineering background, and Army Dental Corps experience. The practice does advanced work (implants, wisdom teeth extractions, bone grafting, sedation, same-day milled restorations, 3D-printed surgical guides) with high-end equipment in a small-team environment. There are no outside investors. No production quotas. No scripts for upselling treatment. The standard is clinical quality and honest communication. How This Practice Works Dr. Kary handles diagnosis, treatment planning, and procedures. He reviews every patientâs records and imaging before walking into the room. The approach is conservative: if something isnât necessary, we donât recommend it. The team handles everything else, and âeverything elseâ is most of what patients actually experience. You are the person closest to the patient during procedures. You set up the room, anticipate whatâs needed, keep things clean and organized, and make sure patients feel cared for. Dr. Kary brings the clinical excellence. The team brings the relationship. What You Will Do Assist Dr. Kary chairside during a wide range of procedures: fillings, crowns, surgical extractions, implants, root canals, and sedation cases Sterilize instruments and turn over operatories between patients Take digital X-rays and 3D scans (CBCT) Operate an intraoral scanner for digital impressions Learn to run a CAD/CAM mill and 3D printer for same-day restorations and surgical guides Set up for procedures and confirm materials are ready before each patient Keep the clinical environment organized, stocked, and clean Maintain OSHA and infection control standards Participate in morning huddles. Know your patients before the day starts. Who We Are Looking For We train on our systems and equipment, but we are looking for someone who already knows their way around a dental office. What we cannot teach: You care about doing things right, not just doing them fast You are tidy. Instinctively, not because someone told you to be. You notice when something is running low, out of place, or not working You treat patients like people, not chart numbers You have the confidence to ask questions when you are unsure You show up prepared and on time Requirements Prior dental assisting experience Maryland X-ray certification High school diploma or equivalent CPR/BLS certification Able to stand for extended periods and assist in surgical procedures Nice to Have (Not Required) Service work experience Experience with digital dental workflows (scanning, CBCT, CAD/CAM) Digital art and design experience Expanded functions certification Knowledge of CareStack Bilingual (Spanish, Chinese, Amharic, or Korean especially valuable) What You Get Hands-on training with advanced technology. You will learn to operate a cone-beam CT scanner (DEXIS OP 3D), intraoral scanner (Medit i900C), CAD/CAM milling system (Perfit Ovis), and a 3D printer (RapidShape Pro 20). Most dental assistants never touch this equipment. Here, it is part of your daily workflow, and you will be trained on all of it. Milestone-based raises. Your pay increases are tied to demonstrated skills, not how long youâve been here. Mastery in intraoral scanning, CBCT operation, surgical assisting, etc. will be reflected in your compensation.
