Duties Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments using aseptic techniques to ensure infection control standards are met. Assist dentists during various procedures such as restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and confidence. Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging, including 3D scans, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Dentrix or Eaglesoft accurately and efficiently to ensure seamless documentation. Gather vital signs and medical history information from patients to support comprehensive care planning. Provide chairside assistance with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance procedure efficiency. Support front desk operations as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and maintaining medical documentation. Qualifications Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Strong knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and sterilization processes. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic is a plus. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging tools safely and effectively. Knowledge of dental terminology, medical coding, and medical documentation standards related to dental assisting. Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly and provide compassionate patient careâespecially in pediatric dentistry settings. Certification in radiography or X-ray technology preferred; ongoing training in infection control or pediatric dentistry is advantageous.
