Overview This is a part-time position. We are looking for a dental assistant who is available to work on Thursdays and has at least two years of experience. Duties Assist dentists with a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring efficient workflow Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic technique standards Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy Manage patient records using Open Dental, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and medical coding Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation during patient visits to support overall health assessments Provide chairside assistance through four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance procedure efficiency and patient comfort Educate patients on oral health care instructions and post-treatment care, fostering a positive experience Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control protocols Proficiency in Open Dental; familiarity with 3D scanners is a plus Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical coding practices for accurate documentation Experience with pediatric dentistry, including pediatric-specific procedures and communication techniques Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines and medical imaging devices safely and effectively Knowledge of dental assisting techniques such as chairside assisting, aseptic technique, taking vital signs, and maintaining sterile environments Excellent communication skills with the ability to work efficiently in general dentistry and specialized fields like prosthodontics or endodontics Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour Benefits: Employee discount Work Location: In person
