Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use following aseptic techniques. Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments by providing chairside support. Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging technology, ensuring patient safety and comfort while adhering to HIPAA regulations for medical privacy. Manage patient check-in and check-out processes as a dental receptionist, including updating medical records and verifying insurance information within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft. Monitor vital signs and assess patient readiness for treatment, especially in pediatric dentistry cases requiring special attention to anatomy knowledge and medical documentation. Maintain infection control standards by practicing proper sterilization techniques, handling dental instruments correctly, and following CDC guidelines for aseptic technique. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, updating medical coding information, and managing patient records within Epic or similar systems to ensure accurate medical documentation. Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and infection control protocols. Proficiency with EMR systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; familiarity with medical coding and managing electronic health records is highly desirable. Certification or training in X-ray techniques, chairside assisting, and infection control practices. Strong understanding of anatomy relevant to dentistry as well as pediatric dentistry principles when working with children. Ability to perform vital signs assessment accurately and support general dentistry procedures with professionalism and compassion. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Knowledge of advanced dental technology such as 3D scanners or medical imaging equipment is a plus but not required. Join us in making a difference through compassionate care!
